Depending on where you are headed, an important factor is probably the weather. Whether you are headed north to hit the slopes during the winter season, heading southwest to check out Austin houses for sale, or wanting to go to the beach to catch some rays planning your trip according to the season is key.

High Season

When going on vacation, you may be interested in visiting during peak tourism season. While this can typically lead to higher prices and busier crowds, peak season is usually the best time to experience the area in high demand and focused on pleasing tourists.

You will tend to see the most favorable weather for the area during peak season. So if you are planning to visit a beach or somewhere that requires the best weather to appreciate the destination, peak season may be the optimal time for you.

Low Season

In contrast to high season, low season is when the area sees the least amount of tourists, most likely due to unfavorable weather and less opportunities for tourist activities. However, during the low season, you are almost guaranteed to see lower prices and less of a crowd.

Low season is the perfect choice if you would like to opt for a less busy time with the benefit of saving a good bit of money.

Shoulder Season

This is the time right in between the high and low seasons. This means you get the best of both worlds. You will typically find the area being in the midst of changing seasons which may still be able to provide you with the weather you are seeking.

In addition, you can still find lower prices in comparison to peak season and chances are tourist attractions will still be open minus the longer lines.

The Best Season

Determining when to book your vacation truly depends on what you are seeking in your travels. If a laid-back, less busy, and cheaper vacation is important to you, your best choice will be visiting your particular destination during the low season.

Whereas if you are seeking an entertaining vacation filled with as many options of activities as possible, seeing the area at it’s prime time and you don’t mind spending a bit more for all of these amenities, high season is when you’ll want to go. But if you are somewhere in between the two, the shoulder season that is sandwiched between the two may be the perfect choice for you.
